The mansion lobby remained frozen.
Alexander knelt beside his mother, his hands trembling as paramedics rushed toward her.
"Mom, stay with me."
Evelyn's eyes fluttered weakly.
Across the room, Victoria stood motionless.
The confidence she had worn for months was gone.
The head guard handed Alexander the tablet.
"Camera 17, sir. The private staircase."
Alexander looked down.
The footage began playing.
