1. Not Crushing Garlic Before Eating
One of the biggest mistakes is eating garlic without crushing or chopping it first. Garlic contains a compound called alliin, which turns into allicin—the most beneficial compound—only after the garlic is crushed or cut. If you swallow whole garlic cloves without crushing them, your body may not get the full health benefits.

Tip: Crush or chop the garlic and let it sit for about 10 minutes before eating. This allows the beneficial compounds to fully develop.

2. Cooking Garlic at Very High Heat
Garlic loses many of its beneficial compounds when exposed to very high heat for long periods. Frying garlic until it burns or becomes very dark can destroy important nutrients.

Tip: Add garlic toward the end of cooking or use it raw when possible to preserve its health properties.

3. Eating Too Much Garlic at Once
